Patent war: HTC and Nokia reach an agreement - ZDNet

Legal : Engaged in a battle of intellectual property Nokia and HTC have finally reached an agreement whose terms provide that the Taiwanese company will pay royalties, the two companies will also exchange on patents and certain technologies.

Nokia and HTC have ended their patent war by signing a collaboration agreement. It provides qu’HTC must pay royalties to the Finnish company, the amount is not specified. Nokia has won several legal victories in the UK and in Germany against HTC. The agreement provides for an exchange involving both the technologies and the respective patents both companies.

Nokia specifically mentions HTC patents 4G/LTE. “The two companies will also explore future opportunities for technological cooperation,” the statement said. This crisis comes amid qu’HTC seeks to redress the balance.

Its latest quarterly results were positive but below analysts’ expectations. HTC also plans to relaunch by offering a successor to its best-selling smartphone, the HTC One and a connected object that could be a watch or a bracelet. (Eureka Press)
