Patent wars: Nokia is a blow to HTC Germany - Frandroid

Make ban HTC devices through trials in major European markets? This seems to be the goal of Nokia as it has been since the beginning of several months after a first run in the UK in early December, it was in Germany that the Finn has obtained a permanent injunction against its Taiwanese competitor.

Nokia Patent

Munich court, led by Matthias Ziggan judge’s verdict: although it is non-FRAND patents (Make, Reasonable and Non-Discriminatory), that is to say that it is non-essential technical patents on “ a method of transferring information ” based on NFC or Bluetooth technologies, all under the name EP1148681. Finally, HTC has been convicted of rape patent, Nokia is at liberty to block sales of its products in Germany, since the court ruled on the temporary ban not but permanent sale of equipment including technology and whose range is part One. To do this, and waiting for a call that HTC will not fail to make, Nokia will have a provision for the sum of 400 million euros, it could certainly afford.

Nokia does not hide his satisfaction at the announcement of this judgment, following its success in the UK, but also in Germany, where the brand won a first trial in March in Mannheim, and accordingly HTC which had suppressed energy saving in Germany

a function.

Nokia has initiated actions against HTC in 2012, in order to put an end to unauthorized proprietary innovations and use Nokia has claimed more than 50 patents against HTC. Nokia believes it has demonstrated beyond any doubt how HTC made use of Nokia technology since HTC has been convicted of Nokia in patent infringement lawsuits including the Regional Court of Mannheim and Munich, Germany The High Court in the United Kingdom and the U.S. International Trade Commission. The first resolution of HTC for 2014 should be to stop not to pay and to conduct a fair competition on the market. “Suffice to say that if HTC agrees to ignore technology or to pay Nokia royalties the Finns, it should be left to its competitor. Otherwise we can expect new trial in 2014 on markets already concerned or other countries where HTC is well established, and a real blockade HTC sales in Germany.
