Patents: Nokia gets the ban on HTC Mini One UK - ITespresso.fr

UK HTC seeks to avoid the ban on the marketing of certain models of HTC smartphones. After a complaint by Nokia for patent infringement, the High Court of Justice of the country issued an injunction in this sense against the Taiwanese firm.

In October, the trial had turned in favor of Nokia. Finnish telecoms group seeks to block sale of HTC One models in the country.

Rather embarrassing for the Asian smartphone maker because this range represents 70% of business locally. Between January and September 2013, HTC has elapsed 715,000 smartphones in the UK.

Overall, Europe accounts for 20% of sales of the Taiwanese group.

But finally the British justice merely targeting the HTC One Mini model.

However, HTC has filed an urgent request for action to prevent the lightning falls on his later model HTC One. He said he would seek a parallel technological alternative with its suppliers.

What is the reason for the dispute relating to the exploitation of a patent filed at the European level? Nokia accuses HTC of illegally exploited the patent number 0998024 held (“modulator transmitter and base station”).

The High Court of Justice of the United Kingdom yesterday issued an injunction against several HTC mobile devices that infringe a patent owned by Nokia. This is the EP0998024 patent relates to a “Modular structure for a transmitter and a mobile station.”

hardware component team several smartphones Taiwanese brand, including HTC and HTC One mini. British courts had recognized the Nokia patent infringement in a ruling late October.

Call suspensive

The injunction promulgated yesterday states that the products concerned will be banned from sale from 6 December deadline for the formulation of a call. However, the judge has relaxed its decision on the HTC One that will continue to be marketed until the conclusion of the call in order not to cause “significant” damage to the activity of HTC UK.

In a statement, Nokia says that the injunction will apply to all products adventure offense if the appeal is dismissed. The Finnish firm said it had requested financial compensation the amount of which was not revealed. (Eureka Press)

HTC M8: the successor of HTC One confirmed ... in a complaint ... - Generation NT

HTC just suffered a blow with the confirmation of blocking sales of its model HTC One Mini on December 6 in the UK as a result of the violation a certificate from Nokia, if the appeal urgently launched today is rejected.

HTC One could also be concerned by this measure later, while the Finnish manufacturer may request further financial compensation. In the documents relating to this case, there is a noticeable passage refers to the successor of HTC One.

For several months now rumors circulating around this model, suggesting a terminal codenamed HTC M8 supposed to have been seen in benchmarks and informal pictures. If HTC is logically silent on the subject, Nokia talking to his place in one of the documents supporting the request to block sales of HTC devices.

Finnish group are indicated in black and white that HTC is about to launch a successor to the HTC One and its launch is expected in the first quarter of 2014, perhaps as early as February. “ HTC did not contradict these assertions “, the document says.

This year, February was already the time of the announcement of its flagship model HTC One and therefore it seems that the Taiwanese manufacturer follow a similar timetable for HTC M8, whose final name remains unknown (Two HTC, HTC One 2?). One might think that HTC will retry an ad at some distance from MWC 2014 show to get some visibility.

Nokia manages to prohibit HTC One mini UK - Frandroid

HTC One mini, in the crosshairs of Nokia, has just suffered a damaging setback during Christmas and New Year following a trial for patent infringement led by Finland, the small smartphone will be banned from sale in the United Kingdom.

HTC One mini

verdict came yesterday, following yet another lawsuit for patent infringement, this time between HTC and Nokia. Although rather we used to see Apple and Samsung tear in U.S. courts, this time it is the Taiwanese and the Finns who opposed the United Kingdom, where the consequences will soon be experience, since December 6 was defined as the day when the HTC One mini will no longer marketed in Britain. In case the patent EP0998024B1, which concerns the “ modulator transmitter and a base station “, tabled in late 1999. This same patent had already led HTC to change the radio microphone and placed inside the One, but the mini One remained a potential target for Nokia, which has not been deprived of getting rid of the competitor on the market UK.

From 6 December, Friday, importing HTC One mini will not be permitted in the United Kingdom, where the unit is now available from O2, Vodafone and most online retailers. This date corresponds in reality to the deadline after which HTC will no longer make the call when the order will be valid until the judgment of the said Court of Appeal.

One could also be affected by such a ban, but HTC, whose finances are at least uncertain, benefited from the leniency of the judge handling the case, Richard Arnold, or at least a reprieve . The judge took the view that removing the One, that is to say the spearhead of the brand, British shelves would have been a prejudice “ considerable ” to HTC. As for One mini, the judgment states that “ HTC has appointed and launched at a time when HTC knew he was facing a lawsuit for patent infringement, and apparently without providing alternative “. In short, a nice “we warned” that results in the prohibition of one of the three flagship HTC devices in a market that, according to the court, reported 221 million pounds in the UK between January and September 2013.

HTC One Max: a red version available soon in Taiwan - LesMobiles.com

No preferential treatment within the star trio of HTC. The manufacturer has obviously decided to make its One range also stating his Max One in red tones.

Samsung is obviously not the only manufacturer to its latest flagship dressed for the holidays approaching. HTC is preparing visibly do the same. His Max One has indeed just be seen, matching the suit of Santa Claus in Taiwan. No picture taken on the fly out of the production line here, the camera is actually one of the headliners of the latest advertisement of the local operator FarEasTone alongside 601 HTC Desire, and Desire Butterfly Q.

One HTC Max, HTC Desire 601, HTC Desire and HTC Butterfly Q red

One A trio of perfectly matched, or almost

That One HTC Max is available in red is not really surprising since the other two members of the trio star HTC have had the right to equal treatment. However, no one knows yet whether it will be an exclusive operator where if we can expect an international release. For the record, the One is available from us in such a color while the mini One is exclusive to the British operator Phones4U.

Finally, if we push the comparison with his two cousins ??a little further, we would hardly be surprised to see the HTC One Max also available in blue. I bet that one of these colors, at least, come to us.
